Overview

A palace awaits you on the hilltop medieval village of Gordes. Its name is La Bastide de Gordes, and it features impeccable 18th century décor and stunning panoramic views over the Luberon valley. Because of the enchantment it seems to blanket over its visitors, it was well-rewarded the Palace distinction in 2016. This impressive hotel is a 50-minute drive from Avignon TGV train station, making it highly accessible and a beauty to witness as you pull through the front gates.

La Bastide de Gordes has thirty-four very spacious rooms and suites tastefully designed with historical French elegance and modern comforts of private bathrooms, large beds, desks and dressing rooms. The rooms reflect the intention of contemplation and rest while also distinguishing themselves from one another through their furniture, paintings, period tapestries and works of art. The rooms and suites can be connected to one another upon request and you can enjoy free internet access.

For larger groups, La Bastide de Gordes offers the Constance House. This charming family adobe is an authentic haven of peace with a 1000 m² garden, a private swimming pool and gorgeous views of the Luberon valley. La Maison de Constance can accommodate up to ten people with its five bedrooms, built on three different levels. It has a kitchen, dining and living rooms. If you choose to indulge yourself in the House throughout May to September, you can call on the services of your own dedicated butler.

Unlike many other hotels in the area, La Bastide de Gordes boasts a variety of restaurants, menus and dining areas. The L’Orangerie de La Bastide de Gordes restaurant offers lunch and dinner with full Provencal flavours in a bistro style. Clover Gordes is a design of Chef Jean-Francois Piège, who uses the spit or grill to create mouth-watering dishes. Have a moonlit dinner at La Bastide de Gordes historic restaurant, La Citadelle or immerse yourself in Asian inspiration with their famous Asian bar-restaurant, Le TIGrr. If you’re in the mood for Italy in Provence, try La Bastide de Pierres.

The children are never forgotten at La Bastide de Gordes. In fact, they have their own kingdom, as they like to say. La Bastide de Gordes’ Children’s Kingdom is designed for kids to have an unforgettable experience while also allowing them to appreciate the environment and French heritage. Children can enjoy themselves in their own swimming pool, play in the game room, and participate in treasure hunts, Olympiads, sky watching with a scientist and outdoor movie theatres.

Although Gordes has so much to offer visitors, you’ll want to indulge yourself in all of the activities and wellness packages that La Bastide de Gordes provides. Sisley Spa is La Bastide Gordes own state of the art spa, created in collaboration with architect Christophe Tollemer. The Spa offers a 90 m² fitness room, massage cabins and private terraces, dedicated treatment rooms, a meditation area, a magnificent indoor pool, sauna, and sensory showers. Take CrossFit and shop in the hotel’s magnificent boutique before heading out into Gordes and surrounding areas.
