Overview

The beautiful Hostellerie de L’abbaye de La Celle is charmingly located in the heart of the Coteaux Varois vineyards. The house adjoins the 12th century Romanesque Benedictine abbey, which was eventually renovated by Alain Ducasse in 1999. It’s refined, and friendly atmosphere will put you in a Provencal state of mind, especially as you stroll through the hundred-year-old cypresses and gardens.

L’Abbaye de La Celle has ten rooms and suites, all tastefully designed with refinement, warm lighting and comfort. Each of the rooms is named after people who left a historical mark on the house. Some rooms offer a private garden opening into the vineyards, while others boast beautiful views of the property. They are all air-conditioned, have a private shower or bath, satellite TV and a CD player. Wi-Fi access is complimentary in the hotel’s public areas.

Breakfast is offered in the rooms with special diet menus upon request. For lunch and dinner, the chef prepares creative dishes based on French cuisines using local products and foods from the vegetable patch and herb gardens. Enjoy your meals in one of three lovely lounges: Alsace de Montpellier, Diane de Calluire and Louise de Castellane.

Built on the remains of a Roman house, the hotel’s swimming pool is heated and opened from May to September. It’s a beautiful place to relax and enjoy the Candelon mountain and vines. Take a contemplative stroll through the succession of gardens and vineyards that wrap around the property of the house, including the two natural springs that feed the fountains. Access the Beguinage through cherry trees and blackcurrant, and continue through the cypress alley to the Conservatory with nearly a hundred varieties of grapes.

L’Abbaye de La Celle has so much to offer including rooms for people with reduced mobility, charging stations for electric cars, petanque, a bar, a shop and easy access to the lovely village of Brignoles.
